Rep. Adam Kinzinger to Present 50th Anniversary Proclamation

Rockford Rescue Mission will welcome U.S. Rep. Adam Kinzinger and others from his office at 1:20 p.m. Wednesday, April 16, for a special presentation of a 50th anniversary proclamation honoring the Mission’s five decades of service to the Rock River Valley.

The congressman, who represents Illinois’ 16th District including part of Rockford, has close ties to the Mission’s work. His father was the director of two faith-based organizations, one of which was the Home Sweet Home Mission in Bloomington, Ill.

“We’ll be honored to have Congressman Kinzinger among us and to share with him the efforts of our staff, volunteers and financial supporters as they partner together to ease the burdens of our homeless and struggling neighbors,” said Executive Director Sherry Pitney.  “We’re pleased he has chosen to honor the Mission as we mark the important milestone of our 50th anniversary.”
