Restoration Cafe Welcomes Musician Don Hecox on Friday, June 7

Restoration Café welcomes singer/acoustic guitarist Don Hecox for a First Fridays musical performance Friday, June 7, from 6-9 p.m. Admission is free.

Influenced by a broad mix of pop, sacred and classical music, Don’s music has become an eclectic refined folk pop characterized by simple melodies and memorable lyrics.

Don describes himself as an author, composer, performer, coach, businessperson, son, brother, husband and father of eight children. He’s chosen to promote the message of salvation and the Christian lifestyle through music and ministry.

“Through the process of time God has used the tools of difficulty, disappointment, and uncertainty to fashion us into His useful vessels,” Don says. “And along the way He has expressed his love to us in innumerable ways so that we have a better understanding of Jesus’ words, ‘I have come that they might have life, and have it to the full.’”

From his early performances in schools, coffee houses, churches and at folk festivals, Don has engaged his audiences in order to evangelize, edify and encourage them from the Word of God.

Restoration Café, 625 West State St., Rockford, hosts First Friday musical performances every month. Local artists: If you’re interested in performing, contact Chris Eldridge at Rockford Rescue Mission, 815-965-5332.
