Rockford area Taco John’s restaurants presented a check to the Mission on Friday, June 7, the result of a May promotion.

Rockford Rescue Mission Special Events Coordinator Renee Budwick accepted a check for $575.75 on behalf of the Mission from Taco John’s locations at 3260 S. Alpine Road, Rockford; 8304 N. Second St., Machesney Park; and 3007 N. Main St., Rockford. The funds will be used to further the Mission’s ministry to the homeless and poor.

“We’re grateful to Taco John’s and to their customers who took part in the promotion and made this generous contribution possible,” said Sherry Pitney, the Mission’s Executive Director.  “It’s a great example of our community coming together in support of our less-fortunate neighbors.”

Through a special offer May 20-26, three participating Taco John’s locations donated 25 cents to the Mission for every Potato Olés sold at regular price.
